THE European Union Delegation to Zimbabwe has launched a call for applications for the 2026–2028 Team Europe Youth Sounding Board (YSB), an advisory platform aimed at amplifying youth voices in EU programmes and activities across the country.
The initiative seeks to bring together 25 young Zimbabweans, aged between 18 and 30, from all provinces – including urban, rural and marginalised communities, as well as persons with disabilities. The delegation said the move underscores its commitment to youth inclusion and empowerment in development policy.
The YSB will advise the EU Delegation and Member State embassies on key areas of cooperation, including climate-smart agriculture, green economic growth, human development, governance, human rights, gender equality and women’s empowerment.
According to the EU, the platform gives young people a greater say in shaping and evaluating EU-funded programmes in Zimbabwe. Over the years, the YSB has influenced youth-centred projects and helped align European cooperation with local priorities.
Members of the new cohort will serve voluntarily for two years, contributing around 60 days annually through online and field engagements. Although the role is unremunerated, the EU will cover all reasonable expenses to ensure full participation.
Applications are open for four weeks to Zimbabwean nationals or permanent residents who meet the eligibility criteria. Applicants must not hold leadership positions in political parties and should demonstrate a passion for youth socio-economic development.
The EU Delegation said the initiative remains open to all, calling for applications from young men and women across the country to “ensure diversity and inclusivity in representing Zimbabwean youth voices”.
